| After 2 weeks of bad weather it looks most likely that the Redruth ladies will get their first cricket this evening against an invitational XI.
For many of the ladies this will be their first taste of live cricket, having worked hard at indoor and outdoor nets they are raring to go.
Captain Sarah Stevens say " we have been waiting a long time to get the ladies out on the square, let hope the weather plays it's part and gives us a chance to shine".
Tonights game will give Sarah and Paul Hancock (team manager) a chance to see who can do what. Becky Kennedy has come a long way with her bowling. Louise Strick at 15 is a great prospect, especially as she has been playing cricket for many seasons with Falmouth. Tiffany Hobbs also 15 and the founding light of ladies cricket at Redruth is also keen to get batting with her new bat. Tiffany was recently nominated as young player of the year for Redruth CC, she was also awarded a trophy at the recent Redruth Charity Trust presentation evening.
