Redruth won the toss and batted 1st, scoring 51 all out in 23.1 overs. Although this was by no means a high score, it was a much improved total from that of the previous season and new players Nikki and Suzi, ably supported by another new playing member Jo Jobson and Caroline Penrose made an excellent start to the season for RCC Ladies.  (N Kelman 10; S Brown 13; C Penrose 12; R Eustice 2-1; B Rich 2-18 (and a superb direct hit run out from the deep). 
Rosudgeon, opened with their established batters and easily took advantage of opening bowlers Becky Kennedy and Sarah Stevens who were a little rusty at the start of the season and took a number of deliveries before getting back into the groove.  Rosudgeon 53 for 0 in 5.4 overs (V Searle 31 no; E Pascoe 15 no).
Manager Paul Hancock and Captain Sarah Stevens were very pleased with all the effort put into the game from the team and were delighted to have young sisters Gemma and Kayleigh Richards making their debut.  Despite the result, Redruth Ladies enjoyed the first game of the season and look forward to the rest of the season.
