Fifty members attended the 2011 Senior Awards evening held at the Penventon Hotel, Redruth on Saturday 17th September.
Peter Bolland, Director of Cricket was Master of Ceremonies and welcomed everyone to the evening of celebrations. He began by thanking all for their efforts on and off the field during the 2011 season; in particular, Peter thanked the grounds staff and the group of ladies who have been outstanding this year in their tireless work at the club – not only in production of Saturday team teas, but with additional after match hot meals and various ‘catering’ fundraisers, which in all have raised over £1000 for club funds and have enabled purchases of a much needed replacement cooker, deep fat fryers and other equipment for the club.
Following a 3-course meal, Peter announced the award winners, which were presented by Club Chairman, Sarah Stevens.

Ladies Team
Captains Award: Sarah Stevens
(For outstanding commitment and overall enthusiasm, always giving 100%... presented by Suzi Brown, Ladies Captain)
Best All-rounder: Becky Kennedy
Player of the Year (Players Player): Emily Penberthy
(Emily, aged 12 has improved tremendously from last year and has grown in confidence; which has shown in all aspects of her game, she is shaping into a talented cricketer)

4th Team
Bowling Award: Kevin Bray (21 wickets)
Batting Award: Chris Pearn (602 runs)
(Chris scored a double century for the second consecutive season; he also won the batting award in 2010)
3rd Team
Bowling Award: Matt Richards (39 wickets) (Matt also won this award in 2010)
Batting Award: Mark Richards (429 runs)
2nd Team
Bowling Award: Paul Ladner (27 wickets)
(Paul has now won this award a total of 6 times – the first time being 14 years ago)
Batting Award: Caleb Rowe (367 runs)

Bowling Award: Neil Ivamy (58 wickets)
(Neil also won this award in 2010. In 2011, Neil achieved 6x 5 wicket hauls during County 1 matches and took 72 wickets in total, in all matches played for Redruth – League, vinter cup, 20/20 competitions. Neil has taken over 100 league wickets in his 2 seasons at Redruth).
Batting Award: Luke Johnson (708 runs)
(Luke scored 149 runs v Truro: second highest 1st team score and his partnership of 223 with Larry Martin is a 1st team club record for all wickets)

Team of the Year Award: Was awarded to: Redruth 1st X1
(Who had the highest ‘win rate percentage’; at 78% out of all the four, senior men’s teams)
The Martin Tobin Award: Neil Ivamy (805 points)
(A tightly contested award, with Luke Johnson in second place (803 points) and Chris Pearn (737 points) ... based on league performances, points awarded as follows: 1pt /run, 5 pts / outfield catch, 10 pts / wicket)
Players Player Award: Luke Johnson (Approx 75% of total votes)
(Players Player voted for by senior players from the Men’s Saturday leagues; Luke has proved to be a very capable and popular member of Redruth CC).
A disco followed the awards, with music mixed by ‘MC Bolly’.
